A Complete Camp Counseling Recruiting & Education Curriculum
This class is designed to create the complete camp counselor. The curriculum covers the six major program areas and issues important for the camp counselor staff to be successful. There are units for 1) Teaching Responsibility, 2) Cabin Responsibility, 3) Behavior Management, 4) Special Events Leadership, 5) Group Leadership Techniques and Responsibilities, and 6) a general “Why Camp” purposes, goals and objectives orientation. Workshoppers will also experience a handful of games and activities that can be implemented right away. A class every counselor should take to be successful! Camp directors can easily use materials from this session to enhance their own counselor training curriculum. Join John Fark & Craig Muhlenkamp. Cost of class: $6.

Cool Crafts for Kids
This class will offer simple craft ideas for kids in any setting; camps, churches, schools, community centers or if you just want to be the "coolest" grandparent on the block. There will be a variety of materials used to create crafts that will range from slippery, slimy stuff, flying things, nature crafts and recycled crafts to hand-made toys and games. Come and create with Karen Saker, who has been creating and sharing her craftiness for more than 40 years. Additional materials fee of $15.00.
Recreational Dance
This session will include basic instructions and hands-on experience on how to teach line, circle and square dances. We will dance lots of dances and everyone who has interest will have time to lead/teach a dance or two to the class. Music and instructions to many of the dances will be available to purchase at the BLW bookstore. Barry Jolliff and Christy Leeds would love to dance with you!

Why Before the What
Enhancing the intentionality of your youth group programming by considering the why before you plan your what. Participants can expect to share ideas and present plans for church or faith-based groups in the areas of community service, drama, fellowship, worship and memorable events. Paul Lintern, a 25-year pastor and long-time presenter of school assemblies, historical reenactments and concerts and Katie Feldhues, a recent grad in the field of Youth Ministry bringing experience with youth groups, retreats, and camping in both secular and faith-based settings will guide a general examination of fresh, worthwhile fun elements that point to faith development and less actual faith discussion.
“Games Master” In Training
Do you want to become a Games Master? Someone who people turn to and say could you play a game with us? Then this is the class for you. We will focus on how to plan and lead games for groups of all sizes. Games will range from slow to fast paced, from large group to small group, and for all ages. Class will be very interactive and participants will play the games as we learn. At the end of the week we hope that you will become a “Games Master”. Class taught by our “Games Masters” Tim Borton and Joe Richards.
